Unisal is a Non-Profit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to working with the Latin American and immigrant community in the Carolinas. We strive on facilitating further development, empowering talents to enhance the lives of our youth and adults, and advocating for rights and the well-being of the community.
Unisal is focused on developing programs and projects that emphasize education, advocacy, as well as social and humanitarian services.
Unisal was founded in 2001, by Ana Miriam Carpio after the earthquake in El Salvador the same year. After such an experience and the devastating aftermath that followed, she saw a need and began helping people who had suffered in this catastrophe. Fast forward a few years later and the Unisal that she founded is now servicing Latin Americans and immigrants according to the needs of the community.
